He holds a Master’s degree in Crop Production and a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, and is a registered member of the Institute of Professional Agriculturists of Nigeria.
Amshi’s professional journey began with the Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), a World Bank-supported initiative, where he contributed for more than 14 years. He went on to serve as the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the Fadama III Development Project (World Bank Assisted) and later as the M&E Expert for the Fadama III North-East Food Security and Livelihood Emergency Support Project during the height of the insurgency in Nigeria’s North-East.
In response to the growing humanitarian needs in crisis-impacted communities, Amshi joined the Victims Support Fund (VSF) as Head of Office in Yobe State. There, he led the coordination and delivery of livelihood, recovery, and psychosocial support programs for survivors of terrorism.
He has enhanced his expertise through numerous professional trainings both locally and internationally, gaining advanced knowledge in program design, monitoring and evaluation, emergency response, leadership, and accountability.
Amshi’s core competencies span agricultural development, community-based program implementation, needs assessment, advocacy, capacity building, and inclusive recovery initiatives. As Executive Director and Trustee of SI4SI, he provides strategic leadership to ensure the organization’s mission—to empower vulnerable and conflict-affected populations—is fulfilled with integrity and sustainable impact.
Deeply rooted in his personal experiences growing up in a rural community affected by conflict, Amshi remains unwavering in his commitment to advancing resilience, restoring livelihoods, and promoting dignity through inclusive development
